"My name is Daniel Quaynor and I was born in 1963 in the Brong-Ahafo region of Ghana. I attended local schools and high school, but moved to the capital city Accra to study Mechanical Engineering at the Polytechnic. Later, in 1993, I graduated with a diploma in Rural Art and Industry, from the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi. I am married and have a son.
"While working as a field coordinator for various international organizations, I became interested in helping artisans find a market for products they made from available rural/natural resources. Soon I realized that I truly enjoyed designing products and I began to create a wide variety of products based on my own designs.
"I pursued my interests and my products have been well-accepted, to the point that now there are 10 people doing on-the-job training with me in my workshop. I have participated in exhibitions in Frankfurt, Paris, and New York for the purpose of showing products from my project area, as well as learning about international handicraft markets."
